Amagi released its March 2026 Airtime Report: Special Edition – AI in Media Operations on March 12, revealing that Amagi Report: Applied AI is Integrating into Core Media Workflows as FAST Viewing Rises 21%, based on a survey of 50 broadcast and streaming leaders evaluating 20 end-to-end content operations tasks. The report highlights accelerating adoption of applied AI in high-volume workflows and a 21% year-over-year increase in global FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) hours of viewing (HOV) in Q4 2025, with ad impressions up 27%.
AI Integration in Media Operations
The Amagi Report: Applied AI is Integrating into Core Media Workflows as FAST Viewing Rises 21% identifies strongest AI impacts in metadata enrichment, context tagging, subtitling and translation, and social content publishing. AI also enables dynamic quality control exception flagging, localization triggering, rights compliance resolution, and real-time monetization opportunities across ingest, localization, scheduling, and monetization.
“The industry is entering a phase where AI is no longer just about experimentation — it’s about embedding intelligence directly into operational workflows,” said Srinivasan KA, Amagi Co-founder and President of Global Business. “Media companies that integrate applied AI across ingest, localization, scheduling, and monetization will unlock meaningful gains in speed, efficiency, and scalability.”
The report suggests applied AI could be as transformative to operations as streaming was to distribution.
